Dear Community,
After years of negotiating with the Railroad, signing a long-term lease, securing funding and setting up the needed protocols and procedures, The Callicoon Depot project is moving forward! Jump on board with us!
If you haven’t heard, the historic building in the center of the hamlet will become both the Upper Delaware Scenic Byway Visitor Center and a flexible space for the public’s use.
Callicoon Depot Inc. (CDI), a freestanding nonprofit, has been created to facilitate the building’s rehabilitation and plan future programming. Working in conjunction with our partners from the Callicoon Business Association and Upper Delaware Scenic Byway Committee, we are ready to push play!
There’s room for all types of expertise and experience, and we hope that you’ll reach out to talk about how you might like to be involved. A small group of people got us to this point, and we need to create a sustainable structure to ensure the project’s success over the next 30 years! That means increasing and diversifying our volunteer teams.
Volunteer opportunities are plentiful, and we are happy to create roles that align with your interests and availability. Please contact us with questions, ideas, or to explore how you might help via our project hotline at 845-428-9212 or email allaboard@callicoondepot.org
Thanks everybody,
Callicoon Depot Inc.
P.S. Don’t see yourself represented in this list? No problem! These are just some ideas, and we can work with all of you passionistas, talented go-getters and fans of preserving the history of our community!
